Dior Nirvana Swatches and Review
For my birthday a few months ago, a dear friend of mine who knows me really well got me the bestest gift ever, a gift certificate to Sephora! I was finally able to get my very first Dior polish ever, and I chose Dior Nirvana, a gorgeous creamy teal colour. I’ve been reluctant to try it until now because it costs a pretty penny, but a bunch of us on one of my nail polish groups on Facebook have just been Dior crazy lately, so I decided to pull out Nirvana since a few of the girls don’t have it yet and wanted to see it.
This polish is very opaque, and you could get away with one thicker coat if you wanted to. The formula is quite thick but not goopy. The Dior brush is a wider one and is rounded at the tip, so it makes painting the rounded cuticle line much easier than a square tipped brush. I did two coats of Nirvana.
Since I almost never do just plain nails, I really wanted to do some kind of nail art but didn’t have the heart to mar the perfection that is Dior, so I chose to just do an accent nail. I bought a colour changing shimmery topcoat from Carrie at Sassy Lacquer a while back called Pegasus Jizz (newly released as Pegasus Plasma), which is a gorgeous ethereal coppery gold and green multichrome. I have to admit, the original cheeky/naughty name is one of the reasons I got it too. I thought it would be a good complement for Nirvana. Pegasus Jizz is a limited edition item, but Pegasus Plasma is part of Carrie’s Exotic Energy Trio. Sassy Lacquers can be ordered here.
Then I went and did a gold stamp over top of that with BM 221.
I think that’s a great compromise: I get to have a bit of artsy fun but still maintain the gloriousness that is Nirvana. I have several orders for more Dior polishes coming, and I can’t wait to try them all!
What do you think of Nirvana? What is your favourite Dior polish?
